Lesson 01 – Welcome!

Welcome
Welcome to our class blog for Advanced Presentations (Academic Skills) class.

I look forward to teaching you all about presentations in the coming term.

First Assignment

Give a short presentation about yourself.

Prepare slides to present on your own laptop next week.

You can use your own photographs. You can also use graphics from the Internet. If you know how to credit the source, include that.

Your presentation should include:
  1. Name
  2. Academic background (current & previous majors also)
  3. Academic interests
  4. Personal information (family, hometown, interests)

Make a title slide and practice using contrast.
In your presentation software, open a new file.
Make a title slide with the following points.

  • Title
  • Subtitle
  • Name
  • Major
  • School
  • Date

Use the CRAP principles to design your title slide.

You can review the CRAP presentation and the Images presentation again below.

    Presentation Slides

If you want to use my computer for your presentation, you need to share your slides with me before you come to class next week.
    1. Go to Google Drive.
    2. From the New button on the top left, choose Google Slides.
    3. Give the title your full name + 19ASP + Introduction Speech (eg. Taro Suzuki 19ASP Introduction Speech).
    4. Click the Share button and write my Rikkyo address. (You can continue to make changes after you share.)
    5. Finish your slides before class and be ready to present. Due 4/18 23:59. You can share your slides now and continue working on them until the class.
    6. Practice, practice, practice!
